Nothing makes my heart happy like having the opportunity to stretch myself creatively. You know the feeling, right? When a customer requests a design you’ve been dying to make. Or you see something that you feel compelled to cookie-fy. It’s such a fun and exciting feeling. One that is usually followed up with a happy dance of the most embarrassing variety.

Julianna Zobrist Art Challenge Cookies

These four cookies were exactly that. They are WAY different than my normal go to way of decorating but perfect just the same. When I heard that Julianna Zobrist announced an art challenge to promote her book, Pull It Off.  Y’all if you don’t know of her, let me introduce you. (We are besties afterall, she just may not know it. ?) Julianna is a Christian singer/songwriter with killer style and personality.

Ok, back to the cookies…she had very little rules for the contest. They were simply create something representing a teddy bear, snake, watch, and porcupine. I thought, OK, easy enough, I can do that. But in doing so I wanted the cookies to also represent her love of color and whimsy. I love how they turned out and hope you like them too.

Check out the video below where I go into more detail about the design. And tell me, what cookie is your favorite? Mine is the snake cookie. I LOVE the texture of the scales.
